In case you missed it, international colour powerhouse PANTONE announced their 2024 Colour of the Year…and the winner has a rather delicious name and a playful spirit. Meet Peach Fuzz!
PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a warm shade between pink and orange, a gentle hue with a soft spirit. Leatrice Eisemann, Head of Pantone, says that it captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others:
“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
The Power of Colour
The Pantone Colour of the Year program is celebrating its 25th year. It is hugely influential in product development and purchasing decisions in diverse global industries. The colour is chosen by an international line-up of designers and colour experts and is designed to help companies and consumers better understand the power colour can have.
“We want to highlight colour’s role as a silent language; to teach [people] how to leverage colour’s power and expressiveness to influence perception – whether it be to create a more successful design strategy that will increase consumer engagement, or to better showcase your own personal identity.”
