Over the past two decades, The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) at Melbourne Exhibition Centre has become the premier buying and networking destination for domestic retailers. The 19th edition will take place from 13 – 16 July 2023, with leading retailers including RVM Australia showcasing their latest collections.
Established in 2000, RVM has grown to become one of Australia’s leading importers of high quality audio-visual equipment and furniture, keeping retailers around the country stocked with high-quality products that cater to contemporary customer needs. RVM’s stringent quality control and ethical business practices have also cemented their reputation as a dominant market force.
In the lead up to AIFF, we spoke to Bill Plantzos, RVM’s National Sales & Marketing Manager, about how the company has built its stellar reputation and what visitors can expect to see at the exhibition this July…
Bill, can you tell us more about the history and ethos of RVM?
RVM was established in 2000, with its primary objective being to design and develop innovative and quality products. We are an industry-leading supplier of contemporary designs specialising in entertainment and home office furniture.
We not only supply Australia’s largest furniture retailers but also independent furniture retailers across the country. We’re also extending our furniture categories into living and dining.
RVM has expanded its brand portfolio which already includes Tauris, Criterion and Workzone. Our national sales team and our distribution centres located in Melbourne and Perth continue to provide the support we have proudly offered our esteemed customers for over two decades.
What’s your point of difference in the furniture market?
Customer service and exceptional delivery. We have great representation across the country, with sales representatives in every state. Our flatpack furniture is supplied to stores on a FIS basis nationally.
Please tell us more about the design and making process.
Simple, modern, and contemporary has always been our core design concept. Our products cater to diverse customer requirements by providing solutions through our retailers, interior designers, and hotel /hospitality industries.
We are experts in designing and importing all types of furniture products for living, dining, and home office applications. RVM is backed by a team of highly skilled and creative-minded team members who are passionate about furniture. Our furniture is manufactured in several different countries.
Can you share some exciting residential or commercial projects that you’ve worked on? Or key clients?
Our furniture offerings have traditionally appealed to AV and electrical retailers. Our Entertainment Units have been designed to accommodate the rapid rollout of larger TV panels since the release of Flat Panel TVs. Our furniture incorporates the use of new AV technology whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing, and our focus moving forward will be across all rooms within a home.
We’re delighted you will be exhibiting at AIFF in 2023. What can visitors to the event expect to see?
We will be showcasing our new and exciting solid wood furniture at this year’s AIFF show. Our booth will display seven new Criterion ranges of furniture, along with RVM’s Tauris branded products, specialising in entertainment units. We look forward to seeing you at AIFF! Our stand number is N52.
