The 18th edition of the Australian International Furniture Fair this July will inspire visitors with the very best in homegrown design and craftsmanship. Co-located with Decor + Design, the trade fair will feature hundreds of exhibitors across indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, textiles and contemporary art.

We’re delighted Classic Furnishings will be among them. With a reputation as one of the finest manufacturers of upholstered furniture in the country, they will be launching 16 surprise new pieces at the show, to celebrate 16 successful years in business.

Veronica Dining Chairs

Founded in 2004 by Stephen and Angela Potter, the Melbourne-based brand’s dedication to excellence can be seen in the high quality of their furniture.

Angela and Steve Potter

Steve is a British Master Craftsman with over 32 years’ experience, which is reflected in the extraordinary attention to detail which goes into each piece. Their products forge the perfect blend of timeless style, comfort and durability.

Every one of Classic Furnishings’ handcrafted designs are 100% Australian made; an approach which is aligned with current market demand.

“With the fallout from the global pandemic, we’ve seen a huge increase in requests from our clients for Australian made products,” says Steve. “This has brought much needed local support to our communities, which has been amazing.”

Classic Furnishings also has a dedicated Interior Design Service, which is available to clients on a retainer basis. It is headed up by Angela Potter, who has an innate flair and a background in interior design. The service specialises not only in interior design but in renovation and restoration, helping clients create a unique and timeless interior.

We can’t wait to see the new ‘Moments’ collection in July, with a special design for each of the 16 years they’ve been in business.

“Without giving away too much, the latest collection is bright, bold, beautiful and sumptuous. It’s been designed and created specifically for the high-end market sector. We’re excited to release it at Decor + Design and the Australian International Furniture Fair in July!”

Steve Potter, Classic Furnishings Australia

“As with all the products we design and create, you will not see any of our products in retail stores. We are proud to be Australian made and our brand is exclusive, so we are suited to clients who want special, timeless pieces.”
