Like all good ideas, Couchmate started with a glass of red wine. Say no to messy red wine or food stains on your favourite sofa. Custom made relocatable surfaces to suit couch arms of all shapes and sizes.

Designed and launched in 2014 through the need for a stable surface on an otherwise wobbly couch arm, Mark and David had one vision to create a modern alternative to the Coffee table which was sleek, stylish, and above all user-friendly.
Through prototype development and design, it has evolved to provide the ultimate satisfaction – a stable surface for both square and round arm couches, available in various Tasmanian timbers and stains including desirable Hydrowood sourced from the bottom of Lake Pieman.

Mark and David pride on being local. They have had great exposure on The Block Shop, Better Homes and Gardens and were featured on the Living Room’s ‘Hot or Not’ segment where Couchmate received a 89% HOT rating.

Mark and David have a passion for helping those less fortunate in the community.
In 2015 Couchmate joined forces with Oakdale Industries – the leading not-for-profit employer of Tasmanians with intellectual disabilities. Oakdale are now the manufacturer for all of it’s products. For each item sold, it helps create employment opportunities for the team at Oakdale.

Couchmate has recently introduced a brilliant one-size-fits-all product that works on both square and round arm couches and works so well for retail sales. They come in a recycled box and look beautiful.

At AIFF 2017, we are looking forward to seeing their latest collection. Join Mark and David at the Australian Internation Furniture Fair – Stand number S43. Register to attend The Australian International Furniture Fair.
