When it comes to furniture design, everything earthy is in vogue. Colour palettes and materials are all taking inspiration from nature, with handwoven materials, hand-dyed textiles, geo-prints and natural stone surfaces proving popular with consumers. The colour palette du jour is also bursting with terracotta and greens. This creates a lovely grounded quality in a home, something which is becoming more and more important in our hyper digital world.

Here are some of our favourite earthy pieces from our 2024 exhibitors at The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF), 17 – 19 July at Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Mulberry Co

Mulberry Co is a premium furniture manufacturer located in Sydney, Australia. Since its establishment in 2009, the company has become one of the largest furniture manufacturers in Sydney, with 45 experienced employees and a 4000 square metre factory equipped with advanced automation equipment such as CNC board cutting and PathCut fabric cutting.

Mulberry Co offer a comprehensive range of wooden furniture products, including sofas, sectional sofas, electric recliners, beds, bedheads, accent chairs, and more. Their “one-stop-shop” approach simplifies the furniture-buying process for retailers, saving them time and hassle.

We love Mulberry Co’s Uptown (Penny C) sofa in a light clay/ terracotta colourway that echoes the Australian landscape.

Kwerk Furniture

Over at Decor + Design, co-located with The Australian International Furniture Fair, Kwerk Furniture will be exhibiting for the first time in 2024.

Designed and made in Melbourne, Kwerk’s philosophy symbolises the merging of impeccable craftsmanship, timeless aesthetics, and thoughtful creativity. Each curve, form, and texture has been thoughtfully crafted, transforming furniture into a canvas for self-expression and inspiration.

The Kwerk Furniture range is a testament to unparalleled individuality, offering a transformative design experience. With an ingenious interchangeability that empowers you to design your own bespoke piece, the collection becomes a canvas for your own creativity.

We love the Antony Console (right), a a celebration of fusing different material mediums. It features a natural stone block with a solid American Oak top and painted vertical plinths. Each natural stone block is one of a kind and can be designed in a range of natural stone finishes. The console top and leg is also available in a range of timber and paint colours.
