The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) will return to Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 17 – 19 July, co-located with Decor + Design, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. However, there’s another heritage brand with a big birthday this year! Visitor favourite GlobeWest is also celebrating twenty years and will be returning as a key exhibitor at Australia’s premier interiors trade event.

Founded by brothers Alan and Stephen Mendel, GlobeWest has grown from small beginnings in 2004 to become one of Australia’s leading suppliers to the interiors industry. The company has grown exponentially over the past two decades thanks to its unwavering commitment to innovation and its investment in people, customer service and showrooms.

How would you describe the GlobeWest design aesthetic? Are there any standout products from your current collections that have been particularly popular?

We are committed to creating beautiful, sophisticated, and innovative pieces that our customers can treasure for years to come. Our ethos is design diversity, we design and curate our range to have a broad selection of products. Annually, the design team lead by Keti Lytras (left) produce Design Directions – our forecast of key trends that inform the development of our range. These themes are formulated around five key aesthetics – contemporary, classic, modern, retreat and eclectic.

This enables us to excite and delight our customers with new tones, textures, profiles and freshness every season.

In our current range key standouts at the moment are the Jenson Occasional Chair, with timeless curves and enveloping arms, and the Juno Cloud Sofa. This design has been very desirable, fostering both comfort and style.

The Artie collection continues to grow in popularity, which we expanded on with the growing appetite of our customers. All these collections have proudly been designed in-house by the GlobeWest team.

Can you share any exciting interior design projects that you have been involved with recently?

We recently completed Beyond Apartments; Hallmarc’s first fully furnished build-to-rent project, in the South East of Melbourne. Comprised of 50 boutique apartments, the furniture needed to reflect the quality and design sensibility of the apartments.

This project reflected our long-lasting partnership with Hallmarc, resulting in carefully curated and versatile apartments, that feel refined yet homey.  We are particularly proud of this project and are inspired to continue growing within this space.
