Get ready to be inspired! The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) returns to Melbourne Exhibition Centre from Wednesday 17th – Friday 19th July! Co-located with Decor + Design, this is an incredible opportunity for the furniture and design industry to see the biggest wholesale furniture brands in Australia under one roof. The show is a special event where heritage brands, new design inspiration and innovation converge.

We’re delighted to welcome M Design Furniture Group back as an exhibitor. Always popular with our visitors, M Design are celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2024. Their longevity is a testament to the versatility and diversity of their beautiful ranges, which span Sofas, Lounges, Living and Bedding. We can’t wait to see what they exhibit in 2024.

In the lead up to the event, we spoke to the M Design team to understand a little more about their brand.

M Design are an AIFF visitor favourite! Can you tell us a little bit about the history of the company, the people behind it and its founding ethos?

The 2024 Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) is a special year for the team at M Design Furniture Group. We’re celebrating 20 years of being a part of the furniture industry! This milestone allows for fond reflections of how the industry has evolved over the past two decades and how we as a team have evolved and grown to be a genuine market leader in the supply of furniture to so many retailers across Australia.

M Design Furniture’s humble beginnings began in Melbourne, manufacturing timber goods in a small warehouse. As the years progressed, we steadily built a strong customer base and found there was a demand for a larger product range. This is where the transition to imported goods began. The past twenty years have allowed for strong relationships to be forged with our overseas factories and still to this day these relationships have allowed our team to have confidence and transparency with our overseas manufacturers. M Design expanded to include Elite Lounges – which supplies Lounges and Sofa Beds – as well as Sleeptech Bedding which supplies Mattresses.

As an Australian family-owned and operated business, we are proud that we can successfully celebrate a 20-year birthday as it is a true testament to the nature of how we conduct our business and the products that we are able to consistently produce and are proud to supply.

How would you describe the design aesthetic of your collections?

M Design are known for our versatility; for being able to supply a large range of products that cover many design aesthetics. Many of our customers have diverse needs, so we are able to provide products which are Traditional and Modern.

Have any products or lines been a big hit?

Our Lounge Range, which trades under Elite Lounges, continues to wow and tick many boxes for our customers. Our extensive product selection from Cnr Suites, Lift Chairs, Recliners and Sofa Beds are teamed with various Fabric Selections and Premium Designs continues to be a big hit amongst our customer base.

You have a thriving wholesale business. Who are your key clients?

We are so fortunate to supply to many retailers Australia Wide. Some Large chains as well many Independent stores. We are very proud of the fact that many customers have become lifelong friends to our team.

What can visitors expect to see at your stand in 2024?

Once again we have invested in two large stands which will allow us to display many premium hardwood Dining and Bedroom Suites in a range of finishes. We have some really unique Lounge Suites in some great fabric colors and textures. Some revamped Mattress Models will also be on display. We have variety and value and that is why we continue to be a strong player in the wholesale game.

“We love exhibiting at AIFF. The buzz , the connections and the vibe is always positive! We look forward to seeing everybody there.”
